In a post-apocalyptic desert, a man is sacrificed to old gods… but gets taken by aliens instead. 

The new addition to the Kalipso’s holding cells is making absolutely nobody happy. Ky-Andî is a monk with magical tattoos, poison blood, and cursed by the gods of his planet. He is also, technically, not a real person.
While Pier-Paul and Machiavel enter into a feud over their escape plan, Era is forced to lie to conceal the danger Ky-Andî’s presence on the ship poses for the other prisoners. Meanwhile, the owners of the Kalipso contemplate sabotage, and Stanley’s health deteriorates. 

If anyone is going to survive this journey, the time to act is soon…
